David Wechsler revolutionized intelligence testing in the mid-20th century, creating a series of intelligence tests that have become the gold standard for cognitive assessment. Unlike earlier intelligence tests, Wechsler's approach introduced a more nuanced understanding of human intelligence.

Wechsler developed his first intelligence test, the Wechsler-Bellevue Intelligence Scale, in 1939. His groundbreaking approach went beyond the single overall intelligence score.
